SPIE Matthew Hall win EDF West Burton contract

SPIE Matthew Hall's Southern, Central Regions and Airports Division assisted by SPIE lle-de-France Nord-Ouest and SPIE Matthew Hall's Northern Region have been awarded a major Electrical Services contract with EDF at West Burton's new Combined Cycle Gas Turbine Power Station in North Nottinghamshire.

The contract, worth circa £26.5million, follows a competitive tender and 8months of intensive negotiation with EDF's Centre d'Ingenierie (Thermal Engineering Department) in Paris who are designing and running the overall project. The contract is for the design, procurement and commissioning of the Electrical Technical Services "Balance of Plant" throughout the site. The project requires a number of challenging deliverables to be achieved in time, in order to achieve the project's completion in 2011.

This will be SPIE Matthew Hall's first major project with EDF in the UK and draws on skills and expertise engrained within the SPIE organisation throughout the UK and France.
